Flame Blade

Conjuration (Creation) [Fire]
Level: Fire 2
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: 0 ft.
Effect: A weapon made of fire
Duration: 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
Spell Points: 3

You cause a blazing beam of red-hot fire to spring from your hand and solidify.

You conjure a weapon made of pure, solidified fire. This can be any kind of melee weapon with which you are proficient.

The weapon functions as a normal, physical weapon of its kind, except that all damage it deals is converted to fire damage1.

No one but you can use this weapon. If someone successfully disarms you of the weapon, it immediately disappears in a burst of flame that deals 1d6 points of fire damage to the one that disarmed you of it. The weapon then reforms in your hands at the start of your next turn. The weapon cannot be sundered or otherwise damaged (though it can be dispelled).

The weapon can be improved by spells and other effects that affect normal weapons, such as the Magic Weapon spell (but not by actual magical enhancements, since the weapon doesn’t last long enough to have those placed on it).

Augment: This spell can be augmented in one or both of the following ways:

  1. For every 3 additional spell points you spend, the weapon deals 1d6 points of fire damage in addition to its normal (converted) damage.

  2. If you spend 6 additional spell points, this spell’s casting time changes to 1 swift action.

  1. If you have access to the Fire domain, some of the damage may be again converted to divine damage.
