“It’s a simple spell, really, but the peasants find it impressive...”
Flames as bright as a torch appear in your open hand. The flames harm neither you nor your equipment.
In addition to providing illumination, the flames can be hurled or used to touch enemies.
Used as a melee weapon, they deal 1d6 points of fire damage on a successful touch attack. As a thrown weapon, they can be hurled up to 120 feet (with no range penalty), and deal the same damage on a successful ranged touch attack. Immediately after throwing the flames, another set appears in your hand.
Each attack you make reduces the remaining duration by 1 minute. If an attack reduces the remaining duration to 0 minutes or less, the spell ends after the attack resolves.
This spell does not function underwater. Once an attack is made with the flames, they behave as any other source of fire, causing burns and potentially igniting flammable materials.
Augment: For every 2 additional spell points you spend, this spell’s damage increases by one die (d6).
